All Things New

Throughout my life, I have made many mistakes, poor decisions, and very bad choices, and for much of my life I honestly felt that there was no way out, that I was predestined to live a life of worthlessness and pain. Although I had spent many Sundays in church services, and Bible classes, I really had no idea who this God person was; to me He was just the big man upstairs. The Bible stories of my youth were just that, they were stories that seemed great; however, they hadn’t truly ever become anything more than fun and interesting stories with some type of a moral basis. As I grew up on the streets of east Austin, Texas, the stories of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob along with Daniel, Joseph, and Jesus continued to remain in the back of my mind; however, the Love of Christ was simply not in me. The Good Work

The Good Work After watching several news programs, reading through various publications and periodicals, and participating in  many discussions with just regular people, it is clear to see that a large number of us are feeling the crush of today's poor economy and sometimes harsh living conditions. Although there are certainly signs of improvement throughout the various world markets, retail sales reports, and other key performance indicators, the truth remains that many of us are simply still stuck in the "muck". It is during these times that we must stand on the Solid Rock of God's promises, and we must be confident that the good work that God has begun, He will finish. Philippians 1:6 reads, Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Well, what does this mean to me?
