The Promise of Eternal Life
The Promise of Eternal Life
John 3:16-18
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life. For God sent not his
Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might
be saved. He that believeth on him is
not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath
not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Because God loves us so much, he sent his son Jesus
Christ to Earth to walk amongst us as an example of God’s expectations of us;
however, Jesus would become more than an example or standard for us to live by,
he became the ultimate sacrifice. Jesus Christ was beaten, humiliated, and
publicly crucified as a payment for our sins, and because of his sacrifice, we
have a chance to live. The enemy of your soul will tell you that you have committed
to many sins to be forgiven, or that God will never accept you; however, Jesus
Christ tells us otherwise. Jesus Christ himself tells us that he has not come
to Earth to condemn us, but to save us; Jesus Christ the begotten son of God
has given us the promise of eternal life.
