From Jacob to Israel
The other night, I spent some time talking with an individual struggling with life's issues. Unfortunately, the individuals problems, as far as they were concerned, seemed to them to be more than could be handled...
This story reminded me of one of my own struggles in the past, my health. The fear, uncertainty, and stress had constrained me, causing my faith to waver, and so I shared with them something that has been a help to me in the past, the account of Jacob and the Angel from the book of Genesis chapter 32...
Genesis 32:26
...Let me go, for the day breaketh. And (Jacob) he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me...
...Let me go, for the day breaketh. And (Jacob) he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me...
There are times when simple faith isn't always enough; sometimes, we must strap down and struggle with that thing which has us bound... No, it is not always easy... Yet, if we hold on, we too can overcome the situations in life and receive our own Jacob to Israel moment...
Genesis 32:28
...Thy name shall no more be called Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and (thou) hast prevailed...
You see, if we can find it within ourselves to hold on tightly to the hands of Jesus, He will help us to prevail agains the enemy... He will give us the strength to bear that burden with dignity, and when we are at out weakest point and we can no longer go on, Jesus Christ, the Nazarene, will become our strength, for it is within Him that we live... And this is God's Promise to You... You are never alone in the struggle, all we must do is hold on... God Bless
