Helping Oneself In 2013, I became deathly ill, requiring several surgeries, five months in the hospital, and a long, slow, recovery period, one in which I am still participating, over ten years later. During this time, I met a young man from Pakistan, a young man who wanted to learn who Christ was, and how he could meet Him. Because I was in the hospital, and later at home on bed rest, I had plenty of time to teach him Bible Studies, while sharing the Love of Christ with him. Today, Sajin Samuel Masah is the Pastor of the church, founded by the late Bishop Kenneth Phillips, and myself, in Kenewal, Pakistan, with just 15 young people, eager to learn about the Love of Christ. To whom to you belong? I mean who is in control of your feelings, emotions, heart, mind, and soul? Is it yourself? Is it just time and chance? Is it the one who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy you? The truth is for many of us, we just don't know... For much of my life, I knew that there was a "god", I knew that we just didn't appear here on earth one day, but as far as having a "god" to whom I belonged was a foreign thought to me, I just didn't get it... I lived my life from one moment to the next, not really giving much thought to how the way I lived affected those around me; honestly, I didn't even care how my lifestyle affected myself, but one day, that would all change, I would have a God encounter...
