#PrayerWorks

Originally posted on Facebook... Hello, many of you, my friends and family here on Facebook, are already Bible believing followers of the Lord Jesus Christ; however, many of you are not, and you are the ones I would like to focus on here today. Now, I will be honest with you all, it is very hard to believe that there is one Sovereign God who is Lord and created of everything, right? and then as if that were not crazy enough, this Mighty God would care enough about anyone, let alone you, that He would cover himself in the skins of the human race He created and come down to a world that even He said is controlled by His rival, enemy, and former friend in order to be slaughtered so that I can live? Yes, I will admit that it is indeed a strange story that I had a serious problem with myself until I had a problem that was far beyond the reach of any earthly solution that God helped me with, I am serious… As most of my old school people know, I had no problem living my life my own w...

His Promise, Not Mine...

The ministry is an intricate and important job in today's world, but more than a job, it is a way of life. As I have surely mentioned previously, the majority of ministers I know do not actually receive  any type of payment, and definitely for those that do, there can be no true compensation for the many hours that these individuals put in; however, there is a bright side, we as ministers, are often the ears and voice of God. As ministers, we have the privilege of communing with God on a regular basis, we are able to intercede on the behalf of others, and we have the honor of helping our brothers and sisters in Christ by walking with with them while they  traverse the valleys and we celebrate with them as they reach the mountain tops in their lives. With that stated, t oday, I would like to address those of us who are going through the valley, and I would like to assure them that they are never alone... Matthew 5:3-6 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kin...

God Is Holding Your Hand

October 17, 2013 approximately 9:00am, I am taking a shower, nothing out of the ordinary... then all of a sudden, I feel a pain like nothing I've ever felt before in my life.... moments later, I can't feel my left foot at all, my leg goes numb, I can't move... Oh my God! What's going on... I can't move... I'm at the hospital, after the x-ray, the ER doctor says to the nurse, get the neurology department on the phone, tell the we need a specialist stat! and give him (me) something stronger, the morphine isn't helping... the specialist arrives and said "MRI shows there is too much swelling, we can't operate, all we can do is give him (me) pain meds and steroids, and let's hope the swelling fries down so we can operate." I'm afraid, I don't know what to think, I don't know what to do, the pain is so intense, my legs don't work, what's going on... I'm so afraid... Isaiah 41:13 For I the Lord thy God will hold thy righ...

Bless The Lord...

The Lord our God is full of love, for He is Love; although He does become angry,  his anger will not last forever, for He knows we are only human. God's Grace and mercy will carry us through the worst of situations, and He renews our strength daily... The Lord our God is the God of Restoration, Salvation, and Healing, His tender mercies are new everyday, and His Love endures forever... How do you describe such a God, a God who Loves All, even those who do not return the Love, how do you describe a God who sends forth the rains and blessings on the just and the unjust? What a Mighty and Awesome God... The Mighty God has cast our sin as far as the east is from the west, as He sits high in the heavens, so does His Mercy and Grace... As a father cares for and loves his children, so does our Heavenly Father care for us; there are no words to explain, no gestures that can be made to exemplify, nor any way we could thank Him enough for His goodness and mercy... How do you describe a G...

God Has Changed Me...

OK, I try to be as open and honest as I can, I haven't always lived a life as a child of God, and especially not that of a minister, and yes I was in a gang, and yes I've been to jail, and yes I've been in fights on 6th street, but God has changed all of that, God has changed me, and I believe that He has done it, not for me to say "look what I have done"; instead, He has done it so I can say "look what the Lord has done!" and if He has done it for me, He will do it for you! People, especially young people, listen closely, God never intended for us to live that way, like animals fighting over nothing, that type of behavior only glorified the devil, God has given you an opportunity at life, not for you to destroy before you're even 20 years old, but for you to use it to Glorify our Father who is in Heaven! For you to Glorify the One who Was and Is and Is to come! And for you to show the World a better way, it just hurts my heart to see young people ma...

God Will Give You Joy!

Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord , my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels... What a wonderful verse, it proclaims the Joy of The Lord, followed by two terms, that many of us are familiar with today, the Bridegroom and the Bride. I will greatly rejoice in The Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God! If you are anything like me, you have not always experienced the joy of The Lord, not because of anything God has done, but because of my own actions as well as my doubt and unbelief. Although I was raised in church, as a teen, I turned away from my Christ centered upbringing and turned to a life that was clearly against what I had been taught, and in all honesty, seemed to be exactly what the enemy of my soul desired. Now, the point of this message is not to glorify my past; ther...

Surely I Come Quickly...

Hosea 4:6-7 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame... As I mentioned previously, I have just fallen in love with the Book of Hosea, and as prophecy continues to unfold before our eyes, it is important for us to understand what's going on around us, and we can only understand it by reading the Word and making it a part if who we are... Jesus Christ Himself read and studied the Word, and as a matter of fact, He quoted it often. Jesus Christ is our sinless and Holy example, and He expected the Apostles and all who followed Him to know the Word themselves... One example of this can be found in Matthew 22:31 when speaking, He stated "Have you not read?" He spoke these words In expectation that ...

Hope...

As Resurrection Sunday approaches, Easter Sunday as is commonly referred, it is important for us to take a look back at what, through the Blood of Christ, was gained on that most terrible day... Jesus Christ, the embodiment of God in the flesh, stepped down from His Holy dwelling place, and came to the Earth He created, so that by His own Blood, we may be reconciled back to Him... In other words, Jesus Christ became the ultimate sacrifice; for as we know there must be a blood sacrifice in the form of a lamb, for our sin to be remitted. (Exodus 12:5, 34:20) Colossians 1:19-23 For it pleased the Father that in him (Jesus Christ) should all fulness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say , whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy ...

The Comforter...

Ecclesiastes 4:1-3 So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter. Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead more than the living which are yet alive. Yea, better is he than both they, which hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun... This world of ours can be a troubling place, even for Solomon who, in his time, was not only the richest individual in the known world, he was a world traveler and a respected king. Solomon stated that all around the world he found oppression of the people by those in power, he saw evil works everywhere, and he considered the dead to be luckier than the living because they did not have to witness "the evil work that is done under the sun" but Christ Jesus came to the earth, both God and man, to change everything, He...

The Promise of The Holy Spirit

In my life, I've had the very unique experience of attending several churches of varying denominations and traditions, from Baptist to Catholic, and from United Pentecostal to Non-Denominational, and each one of the services offered me a different understanding of who God is and how much He cares for you and I... You see in each tradition, and in each denomination, there are a couple things that remain the same... Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit... The Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, Espiritu Santo, The Still Quiet Voice, or that something inside that tells you and I what to do... Whatever you desire to call that special something, you and I both need it... Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth... You see there is Power when the Holy Ghost comes upon you... Power; not just a word to be thrown aroun...
